SUPER☆GiRLS is a J-pop idol group, and the flagship unit for iDOL Street. The group was announced on June 12, 2010; they made their major debut in December of that year. Their most successful release is their single "Puripuri SUMMER Kiss", which sold over 92,599 copies.

2010: Formation, Chouzetsu Shoujo
In 2010, Avex Group held the avex Idol Audition 2010. The winners of the audition were chosen and announced on June 12, 2010. They made their stage debut on August 7. On October 2, 2010, it was announced that they would release their debut album, Chouzetsu Shoujo in December. SUPER☆GiRLS also held their first concert, First Concert ~Chouzetsu Shoujo ga Tomaranaii!~, to promote the album.
2011-2012: EveryBody JUMP!!, Akita Eri's graduation
SUPER☆GiRLS released their debut single, "Ganbatte Seishun", on April 20, 2011. They released two more singles that year, leading up to their second album, EveryBody JUMP!!, which was released on February 1, 2012. It is to date their best selling album.[1] Four days after the release of the album, Akita Eri became the first member to graduate from SUPER☆GiRLS, citing a focus on studies as her reason for leaving.
2013: Kano Kaede's departure, Celebration
On January 16, 2013, Kano Kaede withdrew from the group. She wrote on her blog:
- "Since the end of last year, I took a break because of my poor health condition. During that time, I thought about my 2 and a half years of activities as well as my own future. Becoming 20-years-old, I wanted to change my immaturity and the part of me that was spoiled. As for my future, I wanted to start over again from zero. After talking about those feelings with the staff and my family, I, Kano Kaede, will be withdrawing from SUPER☆GiRLS on January 16th."[2]
SUPER☆GiRLS released their third album, Celebration, on February 20. The album still featured Kano, making it her final release with the group.
2014: Yasaka Saori's graduation, 2nd chapter members
On February 23, 2014, leader Yasaka Saori graduated from the group to become a musical actress, remaining under iDOL Street as a solo act. With her graduation, group leadership was passed down to Shimura Rika (the oldest member). On that same day, three more members were added to the group as "2nd chapter members": Watanabe Koume, formerly of the idol group Party Rockets, and Asakawa Nana and Uchimura Risa, both former Street-sei members.
On March 26, 2014, SUPER☆GiRLS released their first compilation album, Chouzetsu Shoujo Best 2010~2014, featuring the group line-up before Yasaka's graduation. The new line-up of SUPER☆GiRLS made its debut with the single "Hanamichi!! A~mbitious" on May 14.
2015: Goto Aya's graduation
On January 10, at a SUPER☆GiRLS live show, Goto Aya announced that she would be graduating from the group and retiring from show business. Goto stated that she had "found another dream" that she wanted to pursue.[3] She will officially graduate in March 2015.
2016: SUPER CASTLE, Katsuta Rino and Arai Reira Graduations, 3rd Chapter members
SUPER☆GiRLS released their fourth album SUPER CASTLE on March 9.
On March 13 during a release event for their new album SUPER CASTLE, Katsuta Rino and Arai Reira announced that they would be graduating from the group. Katsuta stated she wanted to pursue a dream of being sportscaster, Arai will take this time to think about her dream of being in the fashion industry.[4] They will officially graduate on June 25 after SUPER☆GiRLS Tokyo Dome Performance.
On June 25 five new members were introduced as the 3rd chapter members, Kidoguchi Sakurako and Abe Yumeri from TOKYO Yume Piyo-gumi, Ozawa Runa and Nagao Shiori from NAGOYA Chubu, and Ishibashi Hotaru. Maeshima Ami replaced Shimura Rika as leader of SUPER☆GiRLS.
On August 31 SUPER☆GiRLS released their 14th single Rabusama!!! which was the new-line up debut.
On September 29 at their SUPER☆GiRLS Super Live 2016 ～STARTING～ ＠AKASAKA BLITZ performance it was announced that Asakawa Nana will be the center of their 15th Single Koi☆Kirameke-tion!!! which will be released on December 21.
2017: Maeshima Ami Graduation and Kidoguchi Sakurako withdrawal
On March 5 it was announced via iDOL Street website that Maeshima Ami will graduate on March 31 to pursue being a musical actress and voice actor.[5]
On April 17, it was announced that Kidoguchi Sakurako would halt all idol activities due to poor health conditions. She would be absent from all SUPER☆GiRLS concerts and activities till mid-July
On April 26, SUPER☆GiRLS will release their 16th single Sweet☆Smile. This is their first single without Maeshima Ami.
On June 17, it was announced that Mizote Ruka would be the new leader.
On September 20 it was revealed that Kidoguchi Sakurako withdrew from the group after a period of being on hiatus, SUPER☆GiRLS released their 17th single ASE TO NAMIDA NO CINDERELLA STORY on 29 November. This is their first single without Kidoguchi Sakurako and that Yumeri had changed her color to Baby Pink.
On December it was revealed Ozawa Runa will be going on hiatus and halt all idol activities due to poor physical conditions. She would be absent from all SUPER☆GiRLS concerts and activities until she recovers.
2018: Ozawa Runa withdrawal, Tanaka Mirei and Shimura Rika Graduations and 4th Chapter Members
On January 31, it was revealed that Ozawa Runa graduated and withdrew from the group after a period of being on hiatus.
On February 1, it was announced via iDOL Street website that Shimura Rika and Tanaka Mirei will both graduate on March 31 (for Mirei) and on 24th June (for Rika).
SUPER☆GiRLS released their 18th single Kira Kira☆Sunshine on 2 May. This is the first single without Ozawa Runa and Tanaka Mirei. This is also the last single for Shimura Rika before she graduates.
SUPER☆GiRLS released their 19th single Baburin Squash on 15 August. This is the first single without Shimura Rika.
SUPER☆GiRLS released their 20th single Wagamama GiRLS ROAD on 14 November.
On 19 December, 7 new members were introduced as the 4th chapter members, They are Kanazawa Yuuki a former GEM member, Ishimaru Chika, Sakabayashi Kana, Inoue Mayuko, Kadobayashi Yuu, Higuchi Nazuna and Matsumoto Aika.
2019: Watanabe Hikaru, Miyazaki Rina, Mizote Ruka, Asakawa Nana and Uchimura Risa Graduations and Ishibashi Hotaru withdrawal
On January 11, Watanabe Hikaru, Miyazaki Rina, Mizote Ruka, Asakawa Nana and Uchimura Risa graduated from the group. It was also announced that Koume changed her color to red and became the new leader of SUPER☆GiRLS.
SUPER☆GiRLS released their 21st single CongraCHUlation!!!! on 27 February, which was the debut of the new-line up.
SUPER☆GiRLS released their 22nd single Natsukare★Vacation on 12 June.
On the 14th of June, During their 9th anniversary concert, It was revealed that they released their 23rd single Kataomoi no Cinderella on 18 September and that they released their 5th studio album named Chouzetsu☆Gakuen ~Tokimeki High Range!!!~ on December 25. The album would have 11 new songs with each girl as the centre of each song.
On 7 August, It was revealed that Ishibashi Hotaru would be going on hiatus and halt all idol activities due to poor physical conditions. She would be absent from all SUPER☆GiRLS concerts and activities until she recovers.
On December 31, it was revealed that Ishibashi Hotaru graduated and withdrew from the group after a period of being on hiatus.
2020: COVID-19 Pandemic part 1, 10th Anniversary and Ishimaru Chika Graduation
SUPER☆GiRLS released their 24th single Wasuresakura on 18 March. This is the first single without Ishibashi Hotaru. So far many of their activities in that year such as their 10th anniversary concerts were cancelled because of the corona virus pandemic.
On 14 May, It was revealed that Kadobayashi Yuu would be going on hiatus and halt all idol activities due to poor physical conditions. She would be absent from all SUPER☆GiRLS concerts and activities until she recovers. She later restarted her activites on October 11, 2020.
SUPER☆GiRLS released their 23rd single Ashita wo Shinjite Mitaitte Omoeru yo on 5 August.
On 26 October, Ishimaru Chika announced her graduation. Her graduation ceremony took place in December 31, 2020, because her contract got terminated in December.
On 22 December, Watanabe Koume announced her graduation. Her graduation ceremony took place in 30 June 2021.
On 23 December, SUPER☆GiRLS released their 10th anniversary best album Chouzetsu Shoujo☆COMPLETE 2010～2020.
2021: COVID-19 Pandemic part 2, Watanabe Koume, Inoue Mayuko and Matsumoto Aika Graduations and 5th Chapter Members
SUPER☆GiRLS released their 25th single Hajimari Yell on 21 April. This is the first single without Ishimaru Chika and also the last single to feature Watanabe Koume and Matsumoto Aika.
On 8 March, Matsumoto Aika announced her graduation. Her graduation ceremony took place in 30 June 2021 along with Watanabe Koume's graduation.
On 12 June, 3 new members were introduced as the 5th chapter members, They are Hagita Honoka, Takeuchi Nanami and Tanaka Cocona. It was also announced that Yumeri became the new leader of SUPER☆GiRLS and that they released their 26th single WELCOME☆Natsuzora Peace!!!!! on 25 August, which was the debut of the new-line up.
On 20 July, It was revealed that Inoue Mayuko would be going on hiatus and halt all idol activities due to poor physical conditions. She would be absent from all SUPER☆GiRLS concerts and activities until she recovers.
On December 31, it was revealed that Inoue Mayuko graduated and withdrew from the group after a period of being on hiatus.
2022: COVID-19 Pandemic part 3
On April 18, it was announced that SUPER☆GiRLS would release their 27th single Summer Lemon on 6 July, marking nearly ten months since their previous release. This will be the first single with their nine member lineup without Inoue Mayuko.
On June 11, Nagao Shiori, Kanazawa Yuuki and Higuchi Nazuna announced that they would graduate from SUPER☆GiRLS and IDOL Street. They will both graduate on 31 December 2022.
On June 12, Abe Yumeri has been suffering from poor physical conditions and will go on hiatus. She will be absent from all activities until she recovers. After that she restarted activities.
On 25 July, Takeuchi Nanami announced she would take a hiatus from August 21, 2022 to March 1, 2023 in order to concentrate on her studies when she takes the university entrance exam.
On 21 December, SUPER☆GiRLS released their mini-album Chouzetsu☆HAPPY ~Minna ni Sachiare!!!!!~.
On 29 December, the new members were supposed to be introduced as the 6th chapter members at SUPER☆GiRLS's 12th Anniversary Concert, but the concert got delayed due to 4 members being Sakabayashi Kana, Kadobayashi Yuu, Higuchi Nazuna and Tanaka Cocona tested positive for COVID-19. After the test result, an antigen test was also made for the COVID-19 precaution but the result was negative. They will all focus on treatment under the guidance of local governments and public health centres. They would gradually resume other activities soon after the test negative check.
2023: COVID-19 pandemic part 4, Nagao Shiori, Kanazawa Yuuki, Higuchi Nazuna and Abe Yumeri Graduations and 6th Chapter Members
On January 7, it is announced that the SUPER☆GiRLS 12th Anniversary Concert was rescheduled as the 6th chapter members will be announced on January 29.
On January 9, it is announced that the graduation concert for Nagao Shiori, Kanazawa Yuuki, and Higuchi Nazuna was rescheduled to February 15.
On January 29, 5 new members were introduced as the 6th chapter members, They are Kamata Ayaka, Kashiwa Ayana, Kawamura Kaho, Sakurai Hinata and Habuchi Karen.
On February 11, it was announced that their digital single Aoi Hono!!!!!! would be released on 26 April and their 29th single Ribbon would be released on 12 July, which was the debut of the new line-up.
On March 1, Takeuchi Nanami began to restart her activities.
On June 10, it is announced that Abe Yumeri would be graduating,[6] her graduation ceremony and concert will take place on December 29.[7]
On August 3, It was revealed that Hagita Honoka would be going on hiatus and halt all idol activities due to poor physical conditions. She would be absent from all SUPER☆GiRLS concerts and activities until she recovers.
On September 25, It was revealed that Sakabayashi Kana would be going on hiatus and halt all idol activities due to her being sick since last month and refraining from some activities due to her illness. Since she is still sick, She would be absent from all SUPER☆GiRLS concerts and activities until she recovers.
On December 20, SUPER☆GiRLS released their 30th single Heart Diamond. This is the last single to feature Abe Yumeri.
On December 29, During Abe Yumeri's graduation, it was announced that Takeuchi Nanami would be the new leader of the group and Kadobayashi Yuu would be a stage leader of the group.
2024: COVID-19 pandemic part 5, Hagita Honoka Graduations
On February 29, it was revealed that Hagita Honoka graduated and withdrew from the group after a period of being on hiatus.
On March 19, It was announced that Sakabayashi Kana would slowly resume activities after her hiatus.
On July 17, SUPER☆GiRLS released their 31st single Tobikiri Dare yori Natsuppoi Koto.
